The Wagner Trio makes its Blue Griffin Recording debut with “Emociones del alma” (Emotions of the soul), a program featuring the emotional range of Spanish and Latin American music. Music of Spain from composers Lorenzo Palomo, José Peris Lacasa; Valencia from composer Bernardo Adam Ferrero; Costa Rica from composer Marvin Camacho; Venezuelan composer Ricardo Lorenz. Many of the works were written or arranged specifically for the Wagner Trio and are world premiere recordings.
Corbin Wagner, French Horn, is currently substitute horn with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (after retiring from the symphony after 35 years), Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera and is a member of the Peninsula Music Festival. He has received many prestigious performing honors and has performed many major works. Jacquelyn Wagner, soprano, is a free-lance opera singer in Europe. Her most recent roles include Violetta in “La Traviata”, Desdemona in “Othello” and the title role of “Arabella”. Deborah Moriarty, piano, is chair Piano for Michigan State University College of Music. An alumna of the Curtis Institute, the Julliard School and New England Conservatory of Music, Ms. Moriarty is an advocate for new music and has participated in many premiere performances.
