FORGOTTEN ROMANTICS (Guy Yehuda & Ralph Votapek)

When it comes to repertoire from the Romantic period for clarinet and piano, one will most refer to works by Brahms, Saint-Saëns, or Schumann. Many other composers from this time period wrote fine works for the clarinet-piano duo, but for various reasons were not as favored by time.

Critically acclaimed clarinetist Guy Yehuda and pianist Ralph Votapek present this collection of sonatas as a revival of three “Forgotten Romantics” - Felix August Berhnard Draeseke, Charles Villiers Stanford and Giacomo Setaccioli who offer their own individual and impressive mark on the genre and are worth remembering.
